Unit 3 exercise "Crime of the Century"

Okay first I have no idea why this meditation exercise was titled "Crime of the century" but that may be one of those mysteries. I wish I could say I was able to imagine the colors and myself as a prism. However I couldn't, I lost concentration after my stomach region. I just don't have that type of mental state to be able to think this way. I was very relaxed by the end of it, again was not able to concentrate on the colors. Idid however think about how blessed my life is and how loved, centered, balance, cherished and thankful to have God in my life. Maybe that is more what my issue is, I do not believe that the universe is in control. I believe and know that God is in control. So meditation holds a different meaning for me. I am in no way going to become centered with the universe. I will not put any god before my God. Sorry. Meditation for me is either relaxing and just shutting out the noise so I can focus on God and His word or when I do my daily devotions.

  1. I think the title was to intrique us to want to listen to it! ha. I'm not a meditator either as my quiet time is in prayer even if I'm enjoying the sounds of nature while sitting in the yard. How can you enjoy nature and not see God? Your story is an inspiration for me. I admire your strength. Rock on!

  2. I am with Karen on that this exercise was more to entice us or something because it very similar to our first one though in this exercise with all the different colors and different parts of the body had me focusing on the first thing I thought of with each window mentioned in color sequence, it was great, I focused on many things which were positive and not frustrating at all!

  3. I agree with you, I honestly felt distracted for the first coupe of minutes and continually was waiting for the speaker to start talking about a crime story! lol. Oh well, I guess that was a clever marketing idea and way to get us to click on the link in the first place. I wonder if the next one will be titled "free beer in here". I did try to focus on the relaxation exercise in this unit and give it a fair shake as I am also of the mindset that one cannot think the universe into their own control. I am a science major and int eh medical field so occasionally I find it difficult to buy into the meditation/universe control type of lifestyle stuff that has been presented. I also was raised Catholic so my belief system differs from the teaching in this class although I wouldnt put myself on the same field as your commitment to God and religion. I just believe in a higher power and living your life in a respectable and morally sound way. anyhow, once again, great blog post and thanks for sharing.

  4. You have done well and I wish you all the best that life has to offer. I too believe in God's creative Word and the universe he has created. The intelligence that the world and galaxy shows us is mind boggling. I both pray and meditate. Both give me a sense of relaxation and comfort but also guildance and connection. My Native American ancestors have instilled in me the love of Earth and all of Gods creations in it. I share and am one with the planet energy when I relax to listen. I go within to hear Him speak to me through the Love of his Word and messenger. What this does for me is peaceful, gives me hope for the future, and provides me a line to the creator. Truely, I believe we are gods in training and have more control then we think.
